Gorge Scramble
Many visitors to the Lakes who are looking for something a bit special, will always try out one of our many Gorge or Ghyll Scrambles. The premise is very simple, we provide you with a wetsuit, life jacket, helmet and some sturdy boots and take you off to one of the many gorges or ghylls in the area. Then the fun really starts.
The locations vary in difficulty but the essence of the activity is the same, the natural barriers (rocks and trees mainly) are already there for you to get over, but the gushing water coming down the gorge makes it all the more fun. After walking down the valley from our start points, we enter the gorges and work our way back up. Depending on the water flow, you will be able to walk along ledges, crawl under and along rocks, and even try out some of the plunge pools too. We can spend upto 2 or 3 hours at a time in a gorge.
